Lidless

So, I've been buying my coffee from the coffee shop lately because I have had no time to buy beans to make coffee at home. ( I guess I could have bought them at the coffee shop, but for some reason I've associated this with going to the grocery store.) So this morning, I borrowed a little of my roommates coffee and made it at home. I looked up in the cabinet and grabbed the only travel mug; filled the cup, and the grabbed the lid. But oh no! the lid doesn't fit. I guess I can't find the matching lid, because there weren't anymore in the cabinet.

So I have to bring the coffee I've made now to work in a cup with no lid. I was doing pretty all morning. I drove to work and walked in with out spilling any. Then I was shuffling papers around on my desk (that phrase makes me sound so business-y) and knocked over my entire cup of coffee. I knew this no lid thing was a bad idea. Spilled the entire cup on my desk. Luckily my head phones still work after getting drenched. And I had to buy a cup from the Coffee Ethic, because I barely had drank any.

Also I wanted to mention that I will be uploading a few more older photos that I hadn't gotten up yet, but for once I wanted to post on on the day of.

Sad sad empty cup.

Coffee: I'll have to find out this evening. I can't remember what my roommate had.

Back at the Office

I still have some updates from the summer, but as you can see I'm back at the office. The Coffee Ethic has new lids for their large coffee cups, but they don't fit quite so well. Each time I picked up my cup ad dribble kept coming out the side. Tom, one of the owners tells me these lids won't be sticking around so long.

I really need to ask again when the actual bean is; I've forgotten. It's very good though.

Final friday... until the fall

A lot of my friends know but I'll take this spill as an opportunity to explain my summer plans. Today is my last day of work as a designer until next fall. I've taken a leave of absence to work at a wilderness camp for the summer. I'm very excited to do this, but also hesitant that I won't be able to blog all summer. I won't have access to the internet.

But don't fear; I will still be photographing my spills through the summer. We will have coffee at camp. And when on break I'll be catching you up on all my drips and drops and coffee incidences. Two weeks form now is when I start at camp, so you'll still be able to read a few from now until then. However there will be some long weeks in between posts.

Hope you have enjoyed my post since I finally resurrected my blog, and I hope you'll be reading again this summer during the times I can post.

Heavy Handed Landed

This is a little old, because I forgot to put this up on Friday, but on Friday morning, I made a little coffee in my office. I set my mug down just a little too hard and splashed a little bit onto the edge of some papers on my desk.

Coffee: Kaldi's Espresso Roast.
Good dark coffee!

Mr. Coffee- he's getting up there

Today I brewed coffee in my office in the morning and the afternoon (or what a few people I know call "caffternoon"). My coffee make is on the fritz. It leaks from the bottom and sometimes out the side. The bottom photo shows the soaked paper towel I stuffed under the make to prevent any further spillage. Looking at these photos reminds me that I really need to set the time on my Mr. Coffee, this really happened sometime around 3:00 pm.

Coffee: Guatemalan from Equal Exchange.

Thursday Morning Question

Today I bought coffee from the Mudhouse. On the way back from the shop to my office, the coffee spilled onto the bag I was also carrying. Then later I spilled a bit onto my desk.
I'm ending this post with a question: does anyone have any recommendations for a new French press? I'm looking for one that is lightweight and indestructible. Something that makes really good coffee, but I can also take camping.

Coffee: Gailey's Blend from the Mudhouse.
Really good, but I love breakfast at Gailey's.

Drip Drops

Bought coffee in the student union today, from Kaldi's. I was there this morning to mail my taxes. Nothing like putting it off until the last minute. Actually, I've had them done for weeks, but I've been out of stamps. Then I placed them in the mail yesterday, but the letter carrier never picked them up. So I drove to the union today to drop my taxes off at the post office, but as I pulled up in the parking lot, I realized I hadn't placed the address labels on the envelope. So I drove back home to get the labels. Finally, back to the postoffice. Then on my way out I bought coffee.

I was in drinking the coffee in my office, when I accidentally set the cup down a bit to hard. Two tiny drip drops flew off. One landed on my keyboard and the other on my jeans.

Coffee: Birds and Bees blend from Kaldi's.
One of my favorites, it has a great medium flavor! The decription says that this blend is Latin American beans, using a shade grown meathod. By not cutting down the trees, the habitat of insects and song birds is protected. Sounds nice to me. I seem to really like shade grown coffees.

Time to Clean My Desk

I've been needing to clean off my desk for a while. It has clutter all over, but now I have even more incentive.

Coffee: Guatemalan, from Equal Exchange.
I purchased this from Mama Jeans.

This is my new-ish coffee mug. Hand made, beautiful and easy to hold. Its awesome!

Blends

Today, I tried to carry too many things. I spilled coffee on my shirt while walking from one building to the next. Then, not thinking, I set the coffee cup on my sketch pad.

Coffee: We made out own blend to day (a combo of the remaining Sumatra and the Guatemala Antigua) From Gevalia. Pretty Good.

Slosh

I moved my cup too quickly on my desk and sloshed it onto some papers.
